A former deputy DeKalb County police chief has admitted taking a businessman’s bribes. Ex-Lt. Donald E. Frank faces up to five years in federal prison. Sentencing has not been scheduled, which often means that prosecutors want to see whether a defendant can supply useful information — and, if necessary, testify — about criminal activity by others.
Lynn Turner, facing life without parole for killing both her husband and her boyfriend, took her own life in prison last month, the GBI said today. State Medical Examiner Kris Sperry said Turner took “a lethal level” of a prescribed blood-pressure medication. Her body was found in her prison cell Aug. 30.

Former DeKalb County police chief Terrell Bolton, who alleges DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis was just out to get him when Ellis fired him last year, now claims a gaggle of motorcyclists targeted him this week on a Dallas, Texas, tollway. One biker struck and damaged his rear-view mirror, Bolton said, while the driver of a nearby pickup truck made an offensive hand gesture.
